Where does your food come from?

It's simple really -- do you want food that's clean, fresh and supports local industry?

For the sake of convenience, do you purchase "fresh" produce that's been stored for months in cold-stores, with the result that you're eating a nutritionally degraded product; furthermore, do you chose products that have been stored long-term in overseas cold-stores? Vegies and fruit from China, India, South America, Philippines? Meat products from New Zealand and United States?

If you are unable to grow your own produce (-- you'd be surprised how much you can grow in a small space! Check out your local library for information on how to start), and find the prices at organic food stores beyond your means -- consider the local farmers' market as a source for your staples. Apart from them providing a bloody great day out, you'll find produce that fresh, largely organic, bio-diverse, and provides a livelihood for local growers.

Live your love for yourself and your neighbours this weekend!

*`* More on growing stuff another time *`*
