Week 6:15 On Library 2.0

In her blog On the way to the library experience of the future, Wendy Schultz infers that the Library 2.0 concept is a transitory thing, that it reflects current, populist usage of web technologies, in the same way that previous envisionings of the library concept reflected society's take on information culture.

Can I suggest that this thinking is self-limiting and a mere stepping stone; that rather than hanging on the coat-tails of the wired "virtual generation", as information gurus we should be setting the scene, developing the benchmarks and sexifying the information industry?

Why do we wait for others to develop new technologies and applications before we feel empowered and justified enuf to leverage informational concepts?

Where are the
innovators and visionaries among us?
